17″ Macbook Pro coffee damage Keyboard Repair
This week we had a 17″ Macbook Pro in our Adelaide Workshop, which came with coffee spilled over its keyboard.
Liquid-damaged Macbooks are a common occurrence in our Workshop. Mainly we get them with some kind of electronic failure. Especially newer USB-C model Macbooks, which come with higher density and smaller components inside.
By clever engineering this magnetic charger Macbook Pro has a well laid-out internal design that rarely gets direct spillage within.
Macbook Pro coffee damaged Keyboard Replacement Process

Keyboards on Macbooks are attached with rivets. This requires a labor-intensive task to remove the rivets delicately without damaging the keyboard frame.

Once we remove the keyboard, we clean up the remaining rivet bits as well as any dirt around the keys built over time.

The next step is to position a new keyboard in place, which we secure with screws to the previous rivet spots.

Servicing Macbook Pro while is in for a Repair

Although it is not part of the Macbook Keyboard Replacement in our Adelaide workshop, we could not let this Macbook out without a bit more TLC. A completely stuffed cooling system could cause well-known Macbook Graphic Problems if not serviced regularly. Which was when it was manufactured a decade ago.
