What is the iMac Not Turning On Repair Process in Adelaide?
1. Self-Identify what is not working well.
Before you contact us, you need to do your homework. To do so, you need to find an answer to a couple of questions.
- Brand and Model of the device?
- What is not working well?
- Was there any liquid damage or impact on the device?
- What happened to it, leading to the fault?
2. Estimated Repair Quote
Most likely, you already self-identified the fault of your device and got an idea of the repair cost in the website’s sub-sections.
If not located there, we most likely cannot quote you without running a diagnostic and identifying the fault. At this point, you need to book your device for a diagnostic.
3. Book a Diagnostic or Contact us describing the fault
We do not expect you to self-diagnose the fault. We only need you to know what is not working well. i.e.
- It has no signs of life!
- Displays a Black or Blue screen with text when it starts!
- Some or All the keys not typing!
- The screen is black, or there is a line across it!
- There is a noise from when keys are pressed but no picture!
- The is no light on the Capslock key when pressed!
- etc.
Based on our experience with such failures and, most importantly, the information above you have provided, we will be able to quote you accurately.
Assessment is a Free Quote, we do not offer Diagnostics at this step, nor will we look at it, touch or take it apart (due to liability). So instead, this is an informal chat to decide what average cost you could expect and if it’s worth investing in the repair.
1. Book an Appointment, Request a Pickup or Send IT via Post
You can book your Repair over the phone, online or via chat. Alternatively, request a pickup if you are in Adelaide.
Assessment can progress to a Diagnostic & Repair Attempt once you agree to the repair.
2. Diagnostic in our Workshop
We explain what your Device might be experiencing and what steps we will take to attempt the Repair.
A Diagnostic includes a possible Repair scenario and a Cost associated with it. Once happy with the quote, you will have to fill out our Repair Form and leave the Device with us so we can get to it.
Diagnostic Service incurs a 100$ fee if you do not progress to the Repair stage. For example, if you decide to buy a new laptop and not get yours Repaired after listening to our advice.
3. Repairing your Device
We will get into it and start working through the faults ASAP. In a week, we should know where it is standing with the Repair and what the repair outcome is. If we need to order a part such as Screen, Battery, or Keyboard, you can expect another week or so in delivery.
Overall we should have your Device up and running, if Repairable, within a week or two (for parts we can source from Australia) to 9 weeks (for parts that need to be sourced from abroad).
4. Look out for other Faults.
While we repair the Device, we are constantly testing and looking out for additional faults. This way, we minimise the chances of something else completely unrelated to the initial fault failing a couple of months later.
During the Repair Attempt, if we encounter something suspicious, we will raise it. At this step, if the agreed quote changes, you can cancel the Repair.
Repair Attempt charge for unsuccessful or cancelled repairs is 100$
If you cancel the Repair due to a quote change or the Repair is unsuccessful, we return the Device to a faulty state and charge a Diagnostic + Repair Attempt Fee of 200$
These fees do not go on top of your Repair Quote. Therefore, they won’t apply if the repair is successful.
We provide a 100$ discount for customers who recycle their devices with us.
1. Repair Outcome
We mostly document the Repair process when we have time. This way, we can walk you through the issue, what we did to repair it and how the Customer can prevent this failure in future.
Once the Repair is complete, it is either a Successful or Unsuccessful Repair.

Once Repair is completed Successfully, we run extensive Tests to ensure the stability and Reliability of the Device, including stress tests and overnight streaming tests.
The final quote as agreed can be paid at collection via EFT.

In some rare cases, Repair may not be successful or cost economical. We would not know if that could be the case until we commit to the Repair Attempt. Any Assessment or Diagnostic is incomplete until the Repair Process is complete. Hence, the quote is not applicable until the Repair is Successfully Completed.
If Unrepairable, you are paying only the Diagnostic & Repair Attempt Fee.

2. Arrange a Pickup or Return
Usually, we respond with a text informing the Repair Outcome and Repair Cost as agreed.
You can let us know by calling/texting us when you want to pick it up or by booking a pickup slot through our online booking system.
We can also return the Repaired Device for free at a suitable time for us if you are in Adelaide.
